Every CentroThatch shingle contain its own plastic foil to prevent water from seeping through its extruded straws. The foil is long enough to allow water to flow to the next overlapping shingle. This first layer of preventive foil is complemented by our IVT breathable waterproof membrane installed on the underlying subsurface/sub-construction.

Yes, tests have shown the CentroThatch is resistant to flying sparks and radiation heat. It is non-flammable and does not support combustion. As long as the source of fire is not continuous, the CentroThatch shingle will not continue to burn.

CentroThatch roof requires minimal maintenance to retain its uniform appearance and original color. All that is required is the removal of dirt with low pressure washers.

Our shingles have been optimally designed to maximize user-friendly and efficient installation; we have added 5 grooves to each shingle that serve as an attachment point.
